Single digits now...

We are now down to single digits until our due date. Actually, it's just a week from tomorrow. I can't believe it. I have been feeling quite a bit of contractions, but nothing regular yet. The weird thing is I feel very warm and our house is set at 74, which is quite cool usually. My feet in particular feel the warmest. So weird.

I had my midwife appt on Thursday and everything is fine. We talked about reasons why a vbac may not happen (big baby, failure to go into active labor, failure to progress, etc) but she did ask if I was taking the evening primrose oil. She also said having a doula definitely increases my chances. The only thing we have to wait for is for me to actually go into labor on my own. If not, I have to have another c/s because they can't induce me. They will let me go to 42 weeks again provided any testing (non stress test monitoring, biophysical profile) are good. She even said that I might just be the type that would go into labor at 43 or 44 weeks, but of course, they won't let me go that far. However, since I'd have to have a c/s, no one can make me have it until I'm ready. But I just pray that I go into labor on my own.

I was not feeling well today and I told Bella. She gave me a hug and said, "I make you feel better, ok Mommy?" It was the best medicine ever. She is just such an incredible kid. I also talked to her about her brother coming out soon and that he will be like her baby dolls that we can hold. She said she wanted to play trains with him and I prepared her and said that he won't be able to play trains for awhile. But when he is a big boy, they can play trains together.

Here are some pics that my dad took of Bella while she was at their house. I'm so glad he took them. She is getting so big! I have a few others and some video too, but that will have to wait until tomorrow when I can download them.

She built this herself...

2 weeks and counting

We are down to 2 weeks until this little boy is due! I'm in shock really. It seems like the pregnancy went by soooo fast. Even some of my friends commented that it was the fastest pregnancy they've ever had! lol He has been moving a lot at night and the contractions are definitely there. I hope that we will be able to have a successful vbac. We hired a doula (I can't remember if I posted that) so I feel better knowing someone experienced will be with us. At my last midwife appt, the midwife told me that the OBs and midwives reviewed my file and they think my chances are not great b/c I failed to progress last time. I try to remember though that I was induced so she really wasn't ready to come out on her own anyway. The only way I can have a vbac this time is if I go into labor on my own. I think if that happens, then he does want to come out! So we will have to see what happens. Right now, I am taking evening primrose oil to help ripen the cervix. It doesn't put you in labor but they say it helps get you ready. We'll see. I do try to stretch and sit on the yoga ball. I circle my hips and hopefully it will help stretch me out for this big baby (yes, the midwife at my previous appt said he was big...not a big surprise though!) Sadly, I have more stretch marks, but they are horizontal. So that tells me that he is pulling down so maybe that's a good sign!

My friend from CO came out a few weeks ago with her daughter Chloe. It was so great to see them. The girls had so much fun. Jaime helped me clean out the baby's room and get all the clothes washed, sorted, and hung up. We also cleared out my office to set up the swing. It's all becoming so real that we are going to have a newborn in the house again. We have been so spoiled by Bella that the thought of middle of the night feedings and wake ups is a bit scary! lol Bella slept through the night at 5 months, so for 2 years, we haven't had any issues. At least she is completely transitioned to her room. When we go in the nursery, she says it's her baby brother's room and that he will sleep in the crib. I am so relieved!

We bought Bella a train table because she absolutely adores playing with them at the toy store. I always wanted her to have toys that are typically boy toys so she doesn't think girls just play with kitchens and dolls. Anyway, it's basically the size of our non-existent coffee table. She loves it! Every morning the first thing she says is that she wants to play with her train set. It's great to see her so excited to play with it. When we bought it, we got home and she was supposed to take a nap. I was going to put the table together. Well, by the time I sorted through all the pieces, she was awake (she never really slept...i think she was too excited). Anyway, I put on Monsters Inc. and told her I would put it together while she watched it. I put two pieces together and she asked, "Are you done yet?" Yikes!

Bella has become quite the talker. The things she says are just amazingly funny to us. We also have to watch what we say b/c she repeats everything. And I mean everything. When we are in the car, I have to be the most careful. I have said some curse words, and yes, she did repeat one. I just ignored her and thankfully she didn't say it again. Bad mommy I know. Sometimes I wish we had the privacy glass of limos! But even when Rich was driving, he said, "come on!" And right away, she said, "come on!" It's actually pretty funny.

Anyway, here are some things she loves to say...

"Perfect!"
"Just a minute Mommy. I'm doing something"
"Not yet" (Loves to say this when we tell her we need to change her diaper)
"I'm mad" (as she crosses her arms across her chest with a scowl on her face)
"I sit in the corner" She does this when she is mad or if she doesn't want to do something we tell her to do, such as cleaning. Now we have to find another form of discipline since apparently, she likes to use it to get out of doing what we tell her now!

A recent exchange that she loves to do...

What's your Daddy's name? "Rich"
What's your Mommy's name? "'nice" She just can't seem to remember the Ja
What's your Pop-pop's name? Leny.

And now, she insists that I ask her what her Mima's name is. "Ginia" (Virginia)

Then she says, "What's Jenna's name?" It's so funny b/c she doesn't realize she is already saying her name!

She also sings ABC, Twinkle Little Star, and Happy Birthday (right now, she sings it to Dear Pop Pop b/c she knows Pop Pop's birthday is next). Her ABCs leaves out a lot of letters, but she always gets the last part about Now I know my ABCs right. Twinkle twinkle is a bit hodge podge, but she knows the lines. They are just either repeated or out of order!

I told her that when her baby brother comes, he may cry a lot. I said when he does, you have to give him a binky. Her eyes got really wide and she said, "No my binkies!" I said, oh no, he has his own. I took out his new binkies and the relief that washed over her face was priceless. I think she will be a very good big sister!
